The Paul Bunyan statue is located in Kenton neighborhood in North Portland and was built by neighborhood welders, iron workers and union plasters with the help of the Boy Scouts. It was built in 1959 for the Centennial of Oregon statehood, was only meant to be up for six months but is still there today. It's 31 feet of concrete and steel and is the only roadside attraction on the National Register of Historic Places in Oregon. Paint Paul PDX is a neighborhood association that is in the process of restoring Paul back to his original glory. Make your way up to Kenton and check Paul out.
